Minor injury in West Mahanoy crash

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 PM on Thursday, May 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Altamont Fire Company and the Friendship Fire Company of Englewood to the area of 102 Morea Road in West Mahanoy Township for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Engine 367 arrived on the scene to find one vehicle versus a tree with one occupant self-extricated.  The engine crew checked on injuries and secured hazards while shutting down the roadway.  Engine 369 was directed to the area of the Altamont Station to shut down the roadway. New apparatus feature on Fire & Film!

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Tuesday, May 3, Fire & Film introduced a new feature to the website.  The feature entitled “Apparatus” gives you one place to find photos of apparatus in action.  Schuylkill County Apparatus lists all fire districts and then breaks each district into stations. 3+ alarms in Mount Carmel

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA – At 8:20AM, Northumberland County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm to 232 South Beech Street in Mount Carmel for a working house fire.  As the first alarm tones were being dropped, local police got on radio to report a fire on Beech Street.  The police were advised the fire department was dispatched and about ten calls were received reporting the fire.  Police advised there was a working fire in the rear with three houses already involved. Two large brush fires strike central Schuylkill County

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 2:15 PM on Sunday, April 24, the Pottsville Bureau of Fire was dispatched to investigate smoke and a possible brush fire on Peach Mountain Road.  Assistant Chief P-4 went responding and was advised of additional calls reporting a brush fire near Peach Mountain Road and Mountain Drive. A large column of smoke was seen from miles away as crews from Stations 30 and 40 gathered to respond.  Engines 32 and 41 arrived to find a large brush fire a few hundred yards off the roadway. Shenandoah makes quick work of house fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 10:21PM on Friday, April 22, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm to 217 West Arlington Street in Shenandoah for a reported house on fire.  The Shenandoah Fire Department was due with Frackville Ladder 43-20, Mahanoy City Rescue 993 and Lost Creek EMS. Heavy fire from Shenandoah dwelling

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Just before 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm assignment to 508 West Mount Vernon Street in Shenandoah for a reported house on fire.  The first alarm included the Shenandoah Fire Department, Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Frackville Ladder 43-20.  Shenandoah EMS was also due on the response. Off-road buggy rolls, send one to trauma center

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 6 PM on Saturday, April 2, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 (Sheppton-Oneida) and Shenandoah ALS to 230 Phineyville Road in East Union Township for a vehicle accident with injuries. Engine 09-10 and Chief 09 arrived on the scene to find an off-road buggy rollover to the rear of the residence.  One occupant of the vehicle had been ejected while the other was suffering from minor injuries.  Fire and EMS personnel quickly assessed both patients and decided one would need expedited transport to a trauma center.  Aeromedical was requested to the scene. Car carrier hauling Jeeps rolls over in Nesquehoning

CARBON COUNTY, PA – Just after 8:00 AM on Thursday, March 31, Carbon County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire Districts 13 (Nesquehoning) and 11 (Jim Thorpe) to the intersection of State Routes 93 and 209 at the bottom of the Broad Mountain in Nesquehoning for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment.  Nesquehoning EMS and Lehighton ALS were also due. Minersville rescues one from apartment building fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Just after 2:30 PM on Friday, March 25, the Minersville Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Sunbury Street and Delaware Street for a reported apartment building fire.  Police units in the area noticed smoke coming from the windows of the building on the corner. Minersville Fire Chief 510 arrived on the scene and confirmed a working building fire and requested the second alarm be dispatched bringing Pottsville Stations 50 and 60 to the scene. One flown to burn center after house fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 12:16 PM on Friday, March 25, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm structure assignment to 74 Grier Avenue in Rush Township for a reported house on fire.  The first alarm included Fire Districts 26 (Ryan Twp.), 25 (Rush Township), 27 (Schuylkill Twp. – Tuscarora) and 06 (Delano Twp.).  Altamont Fire and Mahanoy City Fire (Citizens and Good American) were due as well as Polish American Tanker 759 out of Shenandoah.
