Mt. Carmel fire hits fourth alarm
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA – On Wednesday, November 14, the Mount Carmel fire department was dispatched to East Second street for a report of a dwelling fire. First arriving units found smoke pushing from four homes. A second alarm was immediately dispatched as crews began to attack the fire. The fire continued to progress and eventually a fourth alarm was struck bringing in multiple units from various counties. Car rolls over in “The Patch”
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Wednesday, November 7, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched William Penn Fire and Lost Creek EMS to Mount Olive Boulevard in Lost Creek for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle rolled over in the roadway. All occupants were out of the vehicle and refused any treatment from EMS. Trailer fire in Columbia County
COLUMBIA COUNTY, PA – Around 8:30AM Columbia County 9-1-1 dispatched Beaver Twp. Fire and Main Twp. Fire to 188 Scotch Valley Drive for a reported house fire. Nuremberg-Weston Fire was also requested for a full response. Crews arrived to find a working fire in a trailer. Main Twp.’s engine positioned in the driveway while Nurmberg’s engine took the address along Scotch Valley. A line was stretched through the front door to knock down the fire. Beaver Township set up a fill site nearby. Firefighters had the fire under control in under thirty minutes. Click here for the complete photo gallery!

Vehicle takes out tree, hits pole then house
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 10:45 PM on Monday, October 23, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 4, Stations 1 & 2 (Fountain Springs and Lavelle) along with Ashland EMS, Shenandoah ALS and Ashland Rescue to 400 Peter Street in Butler Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Responding units were advised of a vehicle into a house with injuries. Fire and EMS arrived to find a single vehicle accident. Car catches fire on I81
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, Luzerne County dispatched Dorrance Twp. Fire and Dorrance EMS to Interstate 81 at MM156 for a reported vehicle fire. Additional was provided that smoke was coming from a passenger car. Hazle Twp. Assistance Chief 141-4 (Zoshak) come up on radio and stated he came upon the vehicle fire and was now reporting a fully involved vehicle off the roadway and all occupants were accounted for. Dorrance Twp. Fire arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the fire.

Hazle Twp. finds fire showing from apartment building
LUZERNE COUNTY – At 4:57 PM on Tuesday, October 16, Hazle Township Fire, Harwood Fire and APTS Medic 11 were dispatched to 1143 Harwood Road in Hazle Township for a reported commercial structure fire. Hazle Township Assistant Chief 141-4 (Zoshak) went responding and was advised of a three story multi-family apartment building receiving multiple calls for smoke coming from the building. The chief arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire with heavy smoke showing and requested an additional tone for the working fire. Harwood Road Command was established. Tractor trailer t-bones pickup
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 16, APTS Medic 11D was responding to an EMS call when it came upon a motor vehicle accident at State Route 924 and Interstate 81 in Hazle Township. Medic 11D was reporting a tractor trailer had broad-sided a pickup truck in the intersection. Hazle Twp. Fire, who was already operating at a large structure fire less than a mile away, was dispatched on the assist. Heavy fire from Hazleton dwelling
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 11:30 AM on Sunday, October 14, Hazleton City Fire was dispatched to the area 1st Street and Wilbur Court for an investigation. When City Southside Station signed on for the additional, they were told a call was just received for a structure fire at 525 Wilbur Court. It was unknown if the building was occupied at the time. Orwigsburg celebrates 125 years
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, October 13, the Friendship Hose Company #1 of Orwigsburg celebrated 125 years of service to the community. The festivities were kicked off with an apparatus parade through the borough. Residents came out to wave to firefighters and check out the units from throughout Schuylkill County. After the parade, visiting firefighters and residents came to the firehouse and enjoyed food and refreshments along with music provided by a disc jockey.
