One killed, one seriously hurt in Hazle Twp. accident

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 2:30 PM on Friday, August 31, Hazle Township Fire and Rescue was dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to Route 924 in the area of Interstate 81 for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Rescue 101 went responding and was advised of at least one trapped and unresponsive.  Multiple calls were being received and some stated one patient was possibly deceased.  Two Medic 11 units were on the way and requested aeromedical be placed on standby for the injured. Ashland garage goes two bells

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 12:48 AM on Wednesday, August 1, the Ashland Fire Department was dispatched to 16 North 12th Street in their borough for a reported garage fire.  Mt. Carmel Truck 2 (Northumberland County) was also on the first alarm.   Ashland Police Unit 42 was the first responder on scene and found heavy fire from a garage in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street.  Chief 38 arrived on scene shortly after and assumed command. Multiple vacants destroyed in Mahanoy City

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – After 2:30AM on Monday, July 30, the Mahanoy City Fire Department was dispatched with Altamont RIT and Frackville Ladder 4320 to the area of North Main and East Raildroad Streets for the reported house fire. 2 alarms in Lehigh County

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Fire & Film caught a job while traveling through Lehigh County yesterday.  The fire was reported around 4:30 PM on Wednesday, July 25.  Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Stations 30 (Lower Macungie), 25 (Trexlertown) and 66 (Macungie EMS) to 1915 Aster Road in Lower Macungie Township for a dwelling fire.  Initial reports were of a fire from a fan on the roof. Hazleton City finds camper fire with exposures

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Just after 8:00 AM on Friday, July 20, the Hazleton City Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Laurel and Noble Street in the City for a reported vehicle fire.  A neighboring department unit was on the air shortly before dispatch reporting a large column of smoke in the same area. Hazle Township knocks commercial fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, Hazle Township Fire was dispatched with West Hazleton Fire to Greenview Meats on Winters Avenue for a reported commercial building fire.  Crews responded and found fire showing from the rear of the structure.  The fire was quickly knocked down within ten minutes but crews remained on scene for quite some time mopping up.  Photos of the incident were submitted by Greg Yeager. Two vehicles end up on their sides in E. Union

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 3:30 PM on July 19, the Sheppton-Oneida Fire Company was dispatched with Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue (in place of Brandonville Engine 9-14) and Shenandoah ALS to Main Boulevard and Pole Road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries involving a propane truck. Engine 9-10 went responding under the command of Captain 9-91 (Schmidt) and was advised of a two vehicle accident, both vehicles into a wooded area with reports of a propane truck on its side. Ashland finds fire on the porch

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Minutes before midnight on July 9, the Ashland fire department was dispatched with Mt. Carmel Truck 2 to 931 Brock Street in Ashland for a reported house fire. Police arrived on scene within a minute of dispatch and confirmed a working fire with fire showing on the A side. American Engine 38-10 arrived on the scene and stretched their bumper line. The fire was quickly knocked down and found to be a debris fire on the porch. Engine 38-15 staged on Brock Street and all other units were cancelled. Shenandoah fire claims life, escalates to over three alarms

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA –  Shortly after 9:30 PM on Saturday, July 7, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched to 220 West Columbus Street in the borough for a reported fully involved house fire.  Frackville Ladder 43-20, Nuremberg Ladder 581, Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS were also on the first alarm.   Initial responding crews were advised of a working fire reported to be fully involved endangering exposures.  While en route, units were advised by Shenandoah Police that entrapment was reported in one of the houses.Crews arrived on the scene to find a duplex with the rear of the … Continue reading

Shenandoah goes to work on house fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 1:00 AM on Friday, July 6, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched to the area of West Penn and North Chestnut Streets for the report of a possible house fire.  Frackville Ladder 43-20, Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Nuremberg Ladder 581 were also on the first alarm with Shenandoah EMS. Chief 740 went responding and was advised of reports of smoke coming from the roof and eves of the house.  Police arrived on scene shortly after and confirmed a working fire.  The chief arrived and confirmed the same and assumed command.   … Continue reading
