Neffs Volunteer honored for 50 years of service
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – David Hamm joined the Neffs Volunteer Fire Company in 1961. On Sunday, February 6, 2011, friends, family and fellow firefighters gathered to celebrate David’s 50 years of active service. David joined as a young firefighter and quickly moved up the ranks eventually becoming chief of the company from 1972 to 1983. Tractor trailers collide, close I78 for hours
BERKS COUNTY, PA – During the early morning of February 5, a storm bringing a mix of precipitation moved across Berks County. Roads became wet and a coating of ice quickly followed. At 6:26 a.m. Berks 911 dispatched Companies 33 (Virginville), 44 (Kempton) and 46 (Kutztown), along with EMS 590 (Kutztown) to Interstate 78 Westbound toward mile marker 37.3 in Greenwich Township for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
