Shenandoah fire ruled accidental
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – At 4 PM on Tuesday, August 28, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched a first alarm assignment to the area of White and Oak Streets in Shenandoah for a reporting building fire. The Shenandoah Fire Department was due as was Mahanoy City Rescue 48-50. Chief 64-2 was immediately on radio stating he was a block away and had smoke visible. The call was upgraded to a working fire with an updated address of 35 South White Street. Pottsville firefighters battle house fire; fire police officer gets hit by irritated driver
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 8:45 AM on Friday, August 17, Pottsville City Fire District 68 was sent to 511 Peacock Street for a reported house fire. Chief 68 was advised of a caller reporting fire in the rear second floor of a residence and everyone was believed to have been evacuated. Nearing the scene, the chief had a column of smoke visible and declared a working fire with a request for a Rapid Intervention Team from Schuylkill Haven and a Tower-Ladder from Minersville. Tree lands on passing car on Nuremberg Mountain
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just before midnight on August 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 19 (Nuremberg-Weston) to Mountain Road and Millers Road in North Union Township for a tree down on top of a car. Fire units arrived on scene to find multiple large trees down on the roadway and suspended on utility wires. Underneath the trees were a passenger car that was traveling toward Nuremberg when the trees came down. The driver of the car was able to escape without injury but the car suffered moderate damage. Multiple alarms to Port Carbon fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just after 1 PM on Thursday, July 12, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire Districts 59 (Port Carbon) and 57 (Palo Alto) to 108 Market Street in Port Carbon for a brush fire endangering a structure. Chief 59-01 arrived on scene and found a working structure fire at the former Encounters Tavern and requested the box be filled out. Fire was seen consuming the “B” side of the building and impinging on the nearby residential exposure. Car embeds into parked camper
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 5:30 PM on Tuesday, July 10, Pottsville City Station 30 was dispatched to 515 West Laurel Boulevard in Pottsville to assist the police department with a non-injury accident. Fire personnel arrived on scene to find police investigating a non-injury accident where a car careened into a parked camper and became embedded within. The driver was self-extricated. Traffic on Laurel was reduced to one lane while police investigated and Womer’s Garage removed the vehicle from the camper. Click here for additional photos

Tremont home destroyed by fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just after 10 PM on Monday, July 9, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 sent a first alarm assignment to the 100 Block of West Main Street in Tremont Borough for a reported house fire with possible entrapment. The first alarm included Fire Districts 67 (Tremont), 12 (Donaldson), 22 (Joliett), 21 (Ravine), 52 (Minersville Fire-Rescue) and a Rapid Intervention Team from District 58 (North End). Driver escapes serious injury in Butler rollover
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – The driver of a Subaru sedan escaped serious injury Thursday night after the vehicle rolled over on Malones Road in Butler Township. Around 10:45 PM on Thursday, July 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 4 Stations 1 (Fountain Springs) and 2 (Lavelle) with Englewood Fire, Ashland EMS and Ashland Rescue to the area of 253 Malones Road for an accident with rollover. LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. – Over 50 people lined the sidewalks of Carleton Avenue in Hazleton Wednesday night, July 4th, to watch as fire tore through two buildings. Around 11:30 PM, Hazleton City Fire and Medic 26 were dispatched to the 300 Block of Carleton Avenue for a reported house fire. First responding units advised communications that a header was present as crews raced toward the Heights neighborhood. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – At 6:50 PM on Sunday, June 10, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 sent a first alarm structure assignment to the area of 116 Island Road in the Mahanoy Plane section of Gilberton for a reported house fire. The first alarm included Districts 44 (Gilberton), 43 (Frackville), 45 (Girardville), 48 (Mahanoy City), 64 (Shenandoah) and Englewood Engine 369.
