SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 6 PM on Saturday, April 2, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 (Sheppton-Oneida) and Shenandoah ALS to 230 Phineyville Road in East Union Township for a vehicle accident with injuries. Engine 09-10 and Chief 09 arrived on the scene to find an off-road buggy rollover to the rear of the residence.  One occupant of the vehicle had been ejected while the other was suffering from minor injuries.  Fire and EMS personnel quickly assessed both patients and decided one would need expedited transport to a trauma center.  Aeromedical was requested to the scene. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 4:13 AM on Saturday, January 9, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Nuremberg-Weston Fire and Nuremberg EMS to 1589 Tomhicken Road in Black Creek Township for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.  Medic 26 was also due out of Luzerne County. Engine 582 went responding and was advised of a single vehicle rollover with one occupant trapped. The engine arrived on scene to find one SUV on its roof, off the roadway into the woods. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly before 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 21, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched West Hazleton Fire & EMS with APTS Medic 11 to the unit block of East Broad Street for a motor vehicle crash with fluids down and unknown injuries. 183 Engine 2 and Medic 11c responded to the scene and found one vehicle had crashed in to two parked vehicles which were now pushed onto the sidewalk.  Firefighters began to check the vehicles for hazards while EMS found a patient with knee pain.  A second patient was found to need EMS and a second BLS … Continue reading →

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:19 AM on Wednesday, March 4, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 to the area of 489 Main Boulevard in East Union Township for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.  Mahanoy City Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS were also dispatched.   Chief 9 arrived on the scene with Engine 09-10 and Squad 09-70 and found a two vehicle crash with one vehicle on its side on an embankment.  Upon further investigation it was determined that all occupants had self extricated from the vehicles and were walking wounded. Responding units were advised of a single vehicle crash that involved a rollover and had people trapped in the vehicle.
