Sub-Zero temps hamper 2nd alarm fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:30 AM on Tuesday, January 7, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched with Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS to the area of 200 South Ferguson Street in Shenandoah for a reported house on fire. Multiple calls were received into the 9-1-1 center reporting a fire in the area.  Squrt 745 was the first responding unit and spotted a column of smoke pulling out onto Main Street.  Medic 64 arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire with fire blowing across the street. Two helmet cam videos: Ashland & Shenandoah Heights

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly into 2014, Ashland PD Unit 41 radioed Schuylkill County 9-1-1 that he was en route to the 1300 Block of Walnut Street for a suspicious person possibly involved in drug activity.  Police arrived to find household belongings thrown about the street and the suspect gone on arrival.  The officer went up to the house and noticed smoke coming from it.  The door was opened and the officer declared a working house fire. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 9:52 AM on Tuesday, December 31, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched to 112 South Grant Street in the borough for a reported house on fire with possible entrapment. Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS were also due on the first alarm. Police and EMS arrived on the scene shortly after the dispatch and confirmed a working fire with heavy smoke showing from a house in the middle of a row in a tight alley. Minersville house rocked by fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 29 the Minersville Fire Department was dispatched to 524 Pine Hill Street in their borough for a reported house fire. Chief 510 went responding and was advised of multiple calls reporting a working house fire.  The Chief quickly upgraded the call to a working fire and requested a Rapid Intervention Team from Pottsville.  Stations 50 & 60 were added to the alarm. Mahanoy City hits second alarm, female flown to trauma center

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before 9:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11, the Mahanoy City Fire Department was sent to 1031 East Pine Street in Mahanoy City for a reported house fire.  Crews were advised to use caution while responding as there was an active domestic dispute at this residence.  Frackville Ladder 43-20 and Mahanoy City EMS were also due on the assignment. St. Clair storage facility catches fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 5:30 AM on Sunday, October 27, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched fire units to the Port Carbon Saint Clair Highway and South Mill Street in East Norwegian Township for a reported structure fire at the St. Clair Self Storage.  The initial alarm included the East Norwegian Twp. Fire Department, St. Clair Engine 702 (Alert/Columbia), Port Carbon Engine 59-11 and Pottsville City Engines 41 and 62 and Ladder 21. Machine burns in Hazle Twp. factory

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – After 4:30 AM Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched Hazle Twp. Fire & Rescue along with Harwood Fire and APTS Medic 11 to 1111 North Park Drive in the Humboldt Industrial Park for a commercial structure fire.  Sheppton-Oneida Engine 9-10 was also dispatched out of Schuylkill County. Hazleton basement fire caused by arson

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Just after 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, Luzerne County dispatched Hazleton City Fire and APTS Medic 11 to 535 Grant Street in the City for a reported residential structure fire.  Initial reports were of smoke coming from an attic window. Girardville FD battles structure fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Thursday, September 5 around 6:53 PM, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 was advised by Ashland Police of a fire in Butler Township just outside Girardville.  At the same time, a call was received reporting a fully involved house fire in the area of 34 Rapp Road.  Fire District 45 (Girardville Fire) and Girardville EMS were dispatched to the scene.
