NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA – A  Bethlehem Township family was displaced from their residence after a fire broke out on the second floor.   At 7:03 PM on Thursday, May 27, Northampton County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire 14 (Nancy Run), 17 (Bethlehem Township) and 23 (West Easton) for RIT along with EMS 17 to 2011 14th Street in Bethlehem Township for a dwelling fire.   Chief 1751 went responding and was advised of reports of a dwelling fire at the address with flames showing from the second floor.   Captain 1454 arrived on the scene shortly after the dispatch and reported a … Continue reading

West Hazleton fire goes two alarms

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA –  Shortly before 5 PM, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched West Hazleton Fire Station 24 and Hazle Township Fire Station 10 to 201 East Green Street in West Hazleton for a reported structure fire.   Chief 244 arrived on the scene and found heavy fire showing from the Bravo side of a two and a half story duplex.  The chief assumed command and requested a second alarm be struck.   West Hazleton Engine 242 arrived and took the front of the building followed by Hazle Tower 107.  Crews stretched an inch and three quarter line and began an … Continue reading

Firefighters make quick work of Catasauqua fire

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 2 PM on Friday, firefighters from Stations 2 (Catasauqua) and 18 (North Catasauqua) were dispatched to 730 Third Street in Catasauqua for a dwelling fire. First responding units were advised the caller was reporting smoke and flames in the attic.  Lehigh County 9-1-1 was also advising they were receiving multiple calls reporting the fire. Crews arrived on-scene to find a 2.5 story apartment building with smoke showing from the roof.  A second alarm was struck for manpower. Crews respond to barn fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from Carbon and Schuylkill Counties responded to reports of a barn fire Sunday afternoon. Crews were dispatched to the intersection of Blue Mountain Drive and Fort Franklin Road in West Penn Twp., Schuylkill County. Responding units were advised of a caller reporting hay on fire within the barn. First arriving officers found a barn with smoke showing. The ladder and an additional engine from Tamaqua were requested. A tanker fill site was established on SR 309 just south of the SR 895 intersection. Mahanoy City firefighters find house heavily involved

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from Mahanoy City and Frackville were dispatched shortly before 3 AM to 915 East Pine Street in Mahanoy City for a dwelling fire.  MCPD Unit 94 arrived on scene and reported a fully involved rowhome and requested a second alarm.  Fire units arrived and the fire quickly escalated to a third alarm fire.  First units used deck guns to knock down the bulk of the fire and quickly moved in to make an aggressive attack.  The building was laddered and the roof was trenched.  With the quick actions of the MCFD, only two homes were … Continue reading

Slatington 3-Alarm fire

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from three counties spent the afternoon of Wednesday, March 30 battling a three alarm dwelling fire in Slatington Borough. Lehigh County 9-1-1 began dispatching units at 12:12 PM to 562 West Franklin Street for a reported fire. The initial alarm included Station 24 (Slatington), Engine 2911 (Walnutport) and Tanker 621 (Emerald). No access to fire in Lower Macungie

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from Lower Macungie Twp. were dispatched in the early morning hours for reports of a structure fire off Sauerkraut Lane.  Callers from miles away were reporting a large glow in the area.  Chief 30 arrived on scene confirming a fulling involved structure fire with limited access.  The chief requested brush units and tankers to help contain brush fires around the structure.  With the limited access and the state of the fire, it was decided to let the fire burn and protect the exposures.  Crews were on scene well into the morning.

Fire rocks New Ringgold home

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from three counties gathered to battle a blaze in the borough of New Ringgold on Sunday, March 27. At 21:44 hours, Schuylkill County 911 dispatched the first alarm to 301 Hughes Street for a reported house fire. The initial card included Fire Districts 55 (New Ringgold), 37 – Station 1 (West Penn Twp.), 42 (Deer Lake) and 56 (Orwigsburg) along with New Ringgold EMS. NORTHAMTPON COUNTY, PA – Just before 7PM on Sunday, March 27, Northampton County 911 dispatched Fire and EMS 15 (Hanover Twp.) to 3930 Post Drive in Hanover Twp. for a reported garage fire attached to a dwelling. Captain 1554 went responding and advised he had smoke in the area. Chief 1551 was advised on the conditions and requested an engine from Fire 53 (Hecktown). 1554 arrived on the scene, confirmed a worker and established Fire 15 Command. NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA – At 2222 hours on Saturday, March 12, Northampton County 911 dispatched a local alarm to 4613 West Mountain View Drive, Mama’s Pizza, in Lehigh Township for a commercial structure fire. The local alarm included Lehigh Twp. Station 47, Walnutport Truck 4421, Allen Twp. Tender 4531, Laury’s Station Tanker 1221 and Northampton Regional EMS 49.
