Hazle Township battles overnight car fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. – Around 3:00 AM on Sunday, January 14, Hazle Township Fire/Rescue was dispatched with Medic 11 to Interstate 81 Southbound at the 143 Off-Ramp for a vehicle fire. Medic 11 arrived on scene to find a fully involved vehicle fire. 141 Engine 2 arrived on scene and stretched a bumper line. 141 Tanker also responded to assist. Crews were clear shortly after 4 AM. Firefighters make quick work of Brownsville shed fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 7:40 PM on Sunday, January 8, William Penn Fire was dispatched to 1159 West Centre Street in the Brownsville section of West Mahanoy Township for a smoke investigation. Chief 888 was advised of smoke possibly coming from the roof of a shed next to this residence. The Chief requested his engine be added to the response. Shortly after, Engine 888 arrived on scene and confirmed a working shed fire and the box was filled out. Cold weather fires continue as home burns in Girardville
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 6, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 45 (Girardville) and Girardville EMS to 261 5th Street in the borough for a reported house fire. Engine 45-10 and 45-11 responded and were advised the caller stated they were attempting to thaw pipes in the kitchen and now the wall was on fire. 45-11 arrived on scene followed by 45-10 who found smoke showing. 45-10 requested the working fire be transmitted and assumed 45 Command. Fire rips through Palo Alto vacant home
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just before 1 AM on Friday, January 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm assignment to the 500 Block of West Bacon Street in Palo Alto for a reported house fire. The first alarm included Palo Alto, Port Carbon, Pottsville Stations 30 & 60 and St. Clair for the tower ladder. Gilberton home destroyed in New Year’s Day fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just after 10 AM on New Year’s Day, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched a first alarm assignment to 128 Main Street in Gilberton Borough for a reported house fire. The initial alarm included District 44 (Gilberton), Englewood Fire, Shenandoah Ladder 745, District 43 (Frackville) and Mahanoy City West End. Two perish in Wilkes-Barre Hi-Rise fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. – A fire broke out in the Lincoln Plaza hi-rise at the intersection of South Wilkes Barre Boulevard and East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre around noon on Tuesday, December 5. Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire showing from the fifth floor of the eleven story apartment building owned by the Wilkes-Barre Housing Authority. Additional truck companies were requested from Kingston, Plains and Hanover Township as first responders found multiple people on their balconies. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 10:30 PM on Saturday, December 2, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched units to the area of 333 Dietrich Avenue in the Orwin section of Porter Township for a reported house fire. The first alarm included Porter Township fire companies as well as Tower City. Shortly after dispatch, a portable unit from Orwin relayed that he had a fully involved house fire just a few doors away from the fire company. Frackville firefighters fight Jeep fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 10:45 PM on Thursday, November 30, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 43 (Frackville) to 343 South Broad Mountain Avenue in Frackville for a vehicle fire. Engine 43-10 responded and was advised that the caller was reporting smoke coming from under the hood of a vehicle. The Engine arrived on scene to find an engine compartment fire in a Jeep. Fire rocks vacant Shenandoah dwelling
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – At 9:13 PM on Thursday, November 30, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 Block of East Lloyd Street in the borough for a reported house fire. Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS were also due. Marshal 747 was advised by the County 9-1-1 Center that multiple calls were received reporting a fire in a house on Lloyd Street; an update was quickly given that police were on the scene and confirmed a working fire.
