Pre-arrival footage: Dwelling well off in SWT

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – At 2:00 AM on Monday, October 17, Lehigh County Radio dispatched Stations 26 (Orefield), 3 (Cetronia), 11 (Greenwalds) and 32 (Woodlawn) to 5259 Chandler Way for a reported dwelling fire.

Responding units were advised that a neighbor called and stated he could see flames coming from a house across from his own.  LCR advised they received two calls reporting the fire.  Police arrived on scene shortly after and confirmed the working fire.

Chief 3201 was advised of the update and requested the second alarm be put on the street.  The second alarm was filled out with the remainder of Stations 3, 11 and 32 and a unit from Station 62 (Cetronia EMS).

Chief 301 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire, establishing 26 Command.  Command found a row of townhomes with heavy fire showing from the second and third floor of a middle of the row unit.  Truck 331 was directed to the address to set up for master stream operation.

Engine 2611 approached from the rear and tagged a hydrant on Chandler Way.  Once the water supply was established, crews utilized the deck gun and a 2.5” attack line to begin the fire attack.

Tanker 3231 secured a water supply in the front of the building and supplied Truck 331.  Multiple lines were stretched in the front to assist with the knockdown.

Due to the units being under construction, crews encountered problems accessing the upper floors of the exposures.  Command made a special request for Fogelsville Truck 831 to the scene.

The bulk of the fire was knocked down by 2:30 AM and damage was contained to three units.  Firefighters remained on scene for over an hour finding hot spots before units started to be released.

Station 26 personnel remained on scene for a few more hours before clearing the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  No injuries were noted at the scene.
