SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 9:15 AM on Wednesday, November 14, Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue was dispatched with Ringtown EMS to Zion Grove Road and Ferndale Road in Union Township for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injury. Shenandoah ALS was added to the assignment after reports of possible entrapment and an unconscious patient.
Aristes Captain 352 arrived on the scene shortly after dispatch and found a single vehicle that struck a bridge and was sitting in the middle of the roadway. The captain also reported the female driver was self-extricated and conscious. Engine 30-11 and Rescue 30-50 arrived and began hazard control while EMS evaluated the patient. Crews remained on scene and assisted the State Police while EMS obtained a patient refusal.
