Coal Township hits second alarm

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA – Around 7:30 PM on Monday, January 29, Northumberland County sent out the first alarm assignment for a dwelling fire at the corner of Wabash Street and Sherman Street in Coal Township. First arriving units found heavy fire showing from the first floor.  Brady Engine 151 arrived and began to stretch multiple lines.  As other first alarm units were arriving the second alarm was transmitted bringing in companies from surrounding communities. Helmet cam video: Shenandoah blaze

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 19, the Shenandoah Fire department battles a rowhome fire on West Centre Street.  The fire escalated to three alarms before being brought under control.  Below is helmet camera video submitted by Cody Rosselli.

Pick-up rolls on Brandonville road

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Monday, January 7 as firefighters were watching the BCS Championship Bowl Game Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 (Sheppton-Oneida and Brandonville) with Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS to Rattlin Run Road in the area of the East Union Twp. / Union Twp. Line for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. House burns in West Mahanoy Township

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 12:47 PM on Wednesday, December 12, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the West Mahanoy Township Fire Department (William Penn, Shenandoah Heights and Altamont) with the Hookies and Columbia from the Shenandoah Fire Department to 1200 West Coal Street in the Township for a reported house fire.  Shenandoah ALS was also included on the first alarm assignment. Small fire in Shenandoah factory

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before midnight on December 7, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched with Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS to 30 E Poplar Street in Shenandoah for a reported business building fire.  The caller stated there was smoke coming from an abandoned factory across from the address. Hazleton battles stubborn apartment building fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 on Sunday, December 2 Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched the Hazleton City Fire Department and APTS Medic 11 to the unit block of North Cedar Street for a reported residential structure fire. Chief 2 (Jones) went responding and was advised the center was receiving multiple calls for an apartment building fire with children possibly trapped at 53 North Cedar Street. Convenience store hits second alarm in Girardville

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:25 PM on Wednesday November 28, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Girardville Fire Department to 146 North Second Street at the R&R Quik Mart for a reported commercial building fire. Girardville Police arrived on the scene shortly after the advisory and found a working fire from a convenient store attached to a two story building. A second alarm was transmitted within minutes of the initial dispatch as crews found heavy fire throughout the building. Conveyor catches fire in St. Clair shop

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 2:45 PM on Monday, November 26 the Saint Clair Fire Department was dispatched with Saint Clair EMS to 300 Wade Road in their borough for a reported commercial building fire.  Chief 700A quickly signed on the air and was advised of a conveyor on fire in the building. The Chief advised communications he had a working fire with smoke showing while he was responding.  Units arrived on scene to find moderate smoke showing from the building with a conveyor on fire within.  A line was stretched off Engine 702 and quickly extinguished the fire. Schuylkill County companies take advanced RIT

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, November 18 crews from throughout Schuylkill County met at an acquired structure in the Borough of Gilberton to participate in the final day of Rapid Intervention Team advanced training.  The class was taught by Father Bill Glosser with help from Kevin Sibbett and Steve Schneider.  The class was open for registration for all companies throughout the county.
