Columbia frees one from van in Shenandoah
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 3:30PM on Sunday, December 4, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Shenandoah Fire and EMS to the area of Redner’s Market on the Gold Star Highway for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Medic 6404 responded and was advised of a multiple vehicle accident with injuries. There was no additional information on injuries and everyone was reported to be out of the vehicles. Buffet House destroyed in Saturday night blaze
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – A basement fire destroyed a business on Route 61 south of Pottsville on Saturday, November 26. While crews were still operating at the textile fire in Cressona, the box was sent to the Buffet House Chinese restaurant on Route 61 for a reported commercial fire. Crews arrived to find a working basement fire. An interior attack was initiated but all members were ordered to evacuate within 30 minutes due to worsening conditions on the first floor. Man falls into hole, seriously injured
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before noon on Tuesday, November 8, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Shenandoah ALS to 215 West New York Street in Shenandoah for a traumatic injury. Moments later, the rescue assignment was dispatched to assist with extrication. The assignment included the Shenandoah Fire Department and West End Rescue 993 from Mahanoy City. LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Around 4:30 PM on Wednesday, August 17 Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched units to the intersection of Golden Key Road and Schochary Road in Lynn Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Stations 17 (New Tripoli) and 71 (Northwestern EMS) were dispatched. LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Hazmat crews from Allentown were dispatched late in the morning on August 9 to investigate a suspicious powder found in an envelope. The Allentown Fire Department was dispatched around 11:00 AM for a report of an unknown white powder found in an envelope received at a local business. The business, Dorward Wholesale, was located at 1130 Hanover Avenue in the City. Engine 5 responded and staged in a nearby parking lot while the Hazardous Materials Unit was requested. LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – After 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 7, Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Stations 11 (Greenwalds) and 62 (Cetronia) to Orefield Road and Cedar Crest Boulevard for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Engine 1112 and Medic 6290 responded to the scene and arrived to find a two vehicle accident with one vehicle in the roadway and one vehicle into the nearby woods. Rollover causes large oil spill
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – A tractor trailer trying to merge onto Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township lost control and flipped onto its side in the early morning hours of Friday, July 29. The trailer was carrying over 7,000 gallons of used motor oil. As the truck careened out of control, it struck the median ripping open the tank and allowed the contents to flow freely.
