Sugarloaf dwelling fire hits second alarm

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 2:30 PM on Monday, April 23, Luzerne County was notified by a Sugarloaf Fire Company portable of a structure fire on Twin Lane in Sugarloaf.  The portable reported there was smoke showing from a house.  The box was immediately dispatched for Sugarloaf Fire and EMS. Large home destroyed by fire in Columbia County

COLUMBIA COUNTY, PA – Around 8:30 PM on Saturday, April 21 Columbia County dispatched Stations 270 (Numidia), 50 (Catawissa) and 350 (Aristes) to 2191 Mill Road in Locust Twp. for a reported dwelling fire.  Units were quickly re-alerted for the working fire. Ashland fire brings in two alarms

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 03:18 AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Ashland Fire Department to 1438 Market Street in Ashland for smoke in a dwelling.  Shortly after the dispatched Ashland PD arrived in the area with heavy smoke in the intersection.  The box was quickly upgraded for the dwelling fire. Shenandoah worker sends one to burn center

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 9:00 AM on Sunday, March 11, 2012 Schuylkill County 911 sent the first alarm assignment to the 300 Block of West Columbus Street for the possible structure fire.  The assignment included the Shenandoah Fire Department, Mahanoy City Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS. Chief 740 went responding and was advised that calls were being received reporting a fire on the second floor of the dwelling.  A few moments later, the chief was advised that police were on scene reporting smoke showing.  The fire was re-dispatched as a working fire. Wilkes-Barre fire goes “All Hands”

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 6:00 AM Wilkes-Barre City fire was dispatched to 216 Dana Street in the city for the reported structure fire.  Responding units were advised that the 9-1-1 had already received over twenty calls reporting a working fire upon dispatch.  The first arriving chief reported heavy smoke showing from a block away and immediately requested additional alarms as the fire had already spread to a neighboring exposure. Building burns at Upper Macungie farm

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – After 10:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched the box to 852 Independent Road in Upper Macungie Township for the reported building fire. Freeland house burns on Christmas

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly before 10:30 PM on Christmas night, Luzerne County 9-1-1 sent the first alarm assignment to 425 Alvin Street in Freeland Borough for a reported dwelling fire.  Most of the first alarm units were already on scene of a multiple alarm dwelling fire in neighboring Butler Township.  Non-essential units quickly picked up and responded to Freeland.  A second alarm was requested to replace the committed units. Hazleton makes quick work of apartment fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 11:25 AM on Tuesday, December 13, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched Hazleton City Fire and Medic 11 to 359 West Broad Street in the City for a reported structure fire. Chief 2 and Ladder 1 immediately responded along with Engines 2 and 4.  While responding, units were updated that police officers were on scene confirming a working fire.  Chief 2 arrived on scene with smoke showing from a three story end-of-row building containing businesses on the first floor and apartments on the others.  The chief established Hazleton Fire Command.  Reports of possible entrapment were soon presented.  … Continue reading

Commercial building burns to ground in Cressona

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – A fire broke out at a textile facility in Cressona around 6:30 PM on Saturday, November 26. Arriving crews found heavy fire showing from the building.  Multiple hand lines and master streams were immediately put into service.  Command requested a tanker task force to supplement the water supply. An additional ladder was called into the scene for an extra elevated master stream. The fire eventually led to the entire building collapsing.   Click here to view the entire photo gallery
