Orwigsburg celebrates 125 years

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, October 13, the Friendship Hose Company #1 of Orwigsburg celebrated 125 years of service to the community.  The festivities were kicked off with an apparatus parade through the borough.  Residents came out to wave to firefighters and check out the units from throughout Schuylkill County.  After the parade, visiting firefighters and residents came to the firehouse and enjoyed food and refreshments along with music provided by a disc jockey.  A small ceremony was emceed by Jesse Zimmerman, 1st Assistant Chief.  Zimmerman thanked everyone in attendance as well as the residents and government leaders for … Continue reading →

Fire & Film takes in two parades over weekend
