Englewood houses Pierce engine
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, August 3, The Friendship Fire Company of Englewood hosted a housing ceremony for their 2013 Pierce Velocity Engine. The festivities began with an apparatus parade commencing at 1:00 PM. Over thirty pieces of apparatus gathered from surrounding communities to celebrate the housing. After the parade, the housing ceremony was emceed by fire company president Bill Blickley. Plaques were given out to many different people and organization for their contributions over the years including Pierce representatives, the Ladies’ Auxiliary and neighboring fire companies. 4 alarm fire with a jumper in Shenandoah, PA
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 3:20 AM on Saturday February 23, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Shenandoah Fire Department, Shenandoah ALS and Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 to 38 West Coal Street in Shenandoah for a reported dwelling fire with entrapment. Police and EMS quickly arrived on scene confirming a working fire in the middle of a row. The responders also confirmed entrapment with a female hanging out a third story window. Hazleton battles stubborn apartment building fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 on Sunday, December 2 Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched the Hazleton City Fire Department and APTS Medic 11 to the unit block of North Cedar Street for a reported residential structure fire. Chief 2 (Jones) went responding and was advised the center was receiving multiple calls for an apartment building fire with children possibly trapped at 53 North Cedar Street. Convenience store hits second alarm in Girardville
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:25 PM on Wednesday November 28, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Girardville Fire Department to 146 North Second Street at the R&R Quik Mart for a reported commercial building fire. Girardville Police arrived on the scene shortly after the advisory and found a working fire from a convenient store attached to a two story building. Conveyor catches fire in St. Clair shop
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 2:45 PM on Monday, November 26 the Saint Clair Fire Department was dispatched with Saint Clair EMS to 300 Wade Road in their borough for a reported commercial building fire. Chief 700A quickly signed on the air and was advised of a conveyor on fire in the building. The Chief advised communications he had a working fire with smoke showing while he was responding. Two jump from Pottsville house fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 AM on Saturday, November 17 the Pottsville Fire Department was dispatched to 101 North 16th Street in the City for a house fire with entrapment. Responding crews were advised of two people reportedly trapped in the house. Units arrived to find heavy fire to the rear of a three story duplex. Fire had consumed almost the entire “C” side of the house and heavy smoke was pushing from the windows. Two people had jumped from upper floors to escape from the heat and flames. Trailer fire in Columbia County
COLUMBIA COUNTY, PA – Around 8:30AM Columbia County 9-1-1 dispatched Beaver Twp. Fire and Main Twp. Fire to 188 Scotch Valley Drive for a reported house fire. Nuremberg-Weston Fire was also requested for a full response. Crews arrived to find a working fire in a trailer. Main Twp.’s engine positioned in the driveway while Nurmberg’s engine took the address along Scotch Valley. A line was stretched through the front door to knock down the fire. Hazle Twp. finds fire showing from apartment building
LUZERNE COUNTY – At 4:57 PM on Tuesday, October 16, Hazle Township Fire, Harwood Fire and APTS Medic 11 were dispatched to 1143 Harwood Road in Hazle Township for a reported commercial structure fire. Hazle Township Assistant Chief 141-4 (Zoshak) went responding and was advised of a three story multi-family apartment building receiving multiple calls for smoke coming from the building. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 11:30 AM on Sunday, October 14, Hazleton City Fire was dispatched to the area 1st Street and Wilbur Court for an investigation. When City Southside Station signed on for the additional, they were told a call was just received for a structure fire at 525 Wilbur Court. It was unknown if the building was occupied at the time.
