Mahanoy City finds dwelling well involved on arrival
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 5:50 AM on Thursday, October 27, the Mahanoy City Fire Department was dispatched to the area of 10 North 8th Street in the borough for a reported house on fire. Frackville Ladder 43-20 and Mahanoy City EMS were also due. Assistant Chief 455 was the first officer on air and was advised on multiple calls reporting a house on fire with a car still in the driveway. New apparatus feature on Fire & Film!
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Tuesday, May 3, Fire & Film introduced a new feature to the website. The feature entitled “Apparatus” gives you one place to find photos of apparatus in action. Schuylkill County Apparatus lists all fire districts and then breaks each district into stations. Lower Luzerne County Apparatus were also updated. Heavy fire from Shenandoah dwelling
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Just before 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm assignment to 508 West Mount Vernon Street in Shenandoah for a reported house on fire. The first alarm included the Shenandoah Fire Department, Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Frackville Ladder 43-20. Shenandoah EMS was also due on the response. As the advisory was given to the police, the West Mahanoy Township police advised County that they could see smoke rising from Shenandoah in the area of the reported fire. Car carrier hauling Jeeps rolls over in Nesquehoning
CARBON COUNTY, PA – Just after 8:00 AM on Thursday, March 31, Carbon County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire Districts 13 (Nesquehoning) and 11 (Jim Thorpe) to the intersection of State Routes 93 and 209 at the bottom of the Broad Mountain in Nesquehoning for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Nesquehoning EMS and Lehighton ALS were also due. Responding units were advised of a tractor trailer that couldn’t stop at the bottom of the mountain struck another vehicle and both rolled over. One flown to burn center after house fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 12:16 PM on Friday, March 25, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm structure assignment to 74 Grier Avenue in Rush Township for a reported house on fire. The first alarm included Fire Districts 26 (Ryan Twp.), 25 (Rush Township), 27 (Schuylkill Twp. – Tuscarora) and 06 (Delano Twp.). Altamont Fire and Mahanoy City Fire (Citizens and Good American) were due as well as Polish American Tanker 759 out of Shenandoah. Wilkes-Barre fire goes “All Hands”
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 6:00 AM Wilkes-Barre City fire was dispatched to 216 Dana Street in the city for the reported structure fire. Responding units were advised that the 9-1-1 had already received over twenty calls reporting a working fire upon dispatch. The first arriving chief reported heavy smoke showing from a block away and immediately requested additional alarms as the fire had already spread to a neighboring exposure. Crews initiated an interior attack and search but conditions rapidly deteriorated. All crews were ordered out of the building and a defensive attacked commenced.
