Hazle Twp. finds fire showing from apartment building
LUZERNE COUNTY – At 4:57 PM on Tuesday, October 16, Hazle Township Fire, Harwood Fire and APTS Medic 11 were dispatched to 1143 Harwood Road in Hazle Township for a reported commercial structure fire. Hazle Township Assistant Chief 141-4 (Zoshak) went responding and was advised of a three story multi-family apartment building receiving multiple calls for smoke coming from the building. The chief arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire with heavy smoke showing and requested an additional tone for the working fire. Harwood Road Command was established. Tractor trailer t-bones pickup
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 16, APTS Medic 11D was responding to an EMS call when it came upon a motor vehicle accident at State Route 924 and Interstate 81 in Hazle Township. Medic 11D was reporting a tractor trailer had broad-sided a pickup truck in the intersection. Hazle Twp. Fire, who was already operating at a large structure fire less than a mile away, was dispatched on the assist. Interstate rollover for Hazle Twp. and Medic 11
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 8:57 AM on Sunday, September 9, Hazle Township Fire & Rescue was dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to Interstate 81 in the area of mile marker 143 southbound for a reported vehicle accident with possible entrapment and fire. Medic 11B went responding and was advised of a 15-passenger van rolled over with unknown occupants trapped and the vehicle smoking. 141 Chief (Kostician) went responding and was told multiple calls were being received placing the incident somewhere in a three mile stretch. One killed, one seriously hurt in Hazle Twp. accident
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 2:30 PM on Friday, August 31, Hazle Township Fire and Rescue was dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to Route 924 in the area of Interstate 81 for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Rescue 101 went responding and was advised of at least one trapped and unresponsive. Multiple calls were being received and some stated one patient was possibly deceased. Two Medic 11 units were on the way and requested aeromedical be placed on standby for the injured. Hazle Township knocks commercial fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, Hazle Township Fire was dispatched with West Hazleton Fire to Greenview Meats on Winters Avenue for a reported commercial building fire. Crews responded and found fire showing from the rear of the structure. The fire was quickly knocked down within ten minutes but crews remained on scene for quite some time mopping up. Hazle Twp. accident sends one to hospital
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 15:00 hours on Thursday, February 9 Hazle Township Fire & Rescue were dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to State Route 924 in the area of Chestnut Hill Road for the motor vehicle accident with reported injuries. Rescue Engine 103 with Chief 101 immediately responded to the scene. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 9:30 PM on Saturday, September 3, Luzerne County 9-1-1 sent out the box to 311 West Green Street in West Hazleton Borough for a reported working dwelling fire with entrapment. The first alarm assignment included Station 24 (West Hazleton), Station 10 (Hazle Township), West Hazleton BLS 583 and APTS Medic 11. Fire/Rescue and APTS Medic 11 to 457 Susquehanna Blvd. (State Rt. 93) in front of the Radio Shack for a vehicle into a pole with reported injuries.
