LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – After 5PM on Thursday, July 14, the Hazleton City Fire Department and APTS Medic 11 were dispatched to 640 Monges Street in the City for a reported structure fire. First responding units were advised of a caller reporting a basement fire and everyone was evacuating the structure. The Duty Chief arrived on the scene to find a two and a half single family dwelling with nothing showing from the exterior. Hazleton and West Hazleton battle two blazes within the hour
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 5:24 PM on Monday, April 1 fire crews from West Hazleton, Hazle Twp. and Harwood were dispatched to the area of North Third Street and Green Street in West Hazleton Borough for a reported structure fire. West Hazleton Chief 3 went enroute and was advised that the caller thought they saw a house on fire in that area. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, Hazleton City Fire and APTS Medic 11 was dispatched to 411 Kiefer Avenue in the city for a reported house on fire. First arriving units found heavy smoke filling the street. Chief 2 arrived and assumed command of the incident. Engine 3 pulled past the residence so Ladder 1 could take the address. Hazleton battles stubborn apartment building fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 on Sunday, December 2 Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched the Hazleton City Fire Department and APTS Medic 11 to the unit block of North Cedar Street for a reported residential structure fire. Chief 2 (Jones) went responding and was advised the center was receiving multiple calls for an apartment building fire with children possibly trapped at 53 North Cedar Street. When City Southside Station signed on for the additional, they were told a call was just received for a structure fire at 525 Wilbur Court. It was unknown if the building was occupied at the time. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 8:57 AM on Sunday, September 9, Hazle Township Fire & Rescue was dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to Interstate 81 in the area of mile marker 143 southbound for a reported vehicle accident with possible entrapment and fire. Medic 11B went responding and was advised of a 15-passenger van rolled over with unknown occupants trapped and the vehicle smoking. 141 Chief (Kostician) went responding and was told multiple calls were being received placing the incident somewhere in a three mile stretch. Hazleton City finds camper fire with exposures
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Just after 8:00 AM on Friday, July 20, the Hazleton City Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Laurel and Noble Street in the City for a reported vehicle fire. A neighboring department unit was on the air shortly before dispatch reporting a large column of smoke in the same area. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 15:00 hours on Thursday, February 9 Hazle Township Fire & Rescue were dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to State Route 924 in the area of Chestnut Hill Road for the motor vehicle accident with reported injuries. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 11:25 AM on Tuesday, December 13, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched Hazleton City Fire and Medic 11 to 359 West Broad Street in the City for a reported structure fire. Chief 2 and Ladder 1 immediately responded along with Engines 2 and 4. While responding, units were updated that police officers were on scene confirming a working fire.
