Two large brush fires strike central Schuylkill County
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 2:15 PM on Sunday, April 24, the Pottsville Bureau of Fire was dispatched to investigate smoke and a possible brush fire on Peach Mountain Road. Assistant Chief P-4 went responding and was advised of additional calls reporting a brush fire near Peach Mountain Road and Mountain Drive. Garage burns in Blythe Township
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 4:15 PM on Sunday, February 24 Schuylkill County dispatched Fire Districts 2 (Kaska and Cumbola), 32 (Walker Twp.) and 54 (New Philadelphia) to 1120 Mountain Road at Kuperavage Coal Company in Blythe Township for a reported working commercial garage fire. New Philly Engine 54-11 was the first apparatus on the scene and confirmed the working fire with smoke showing from the building. A crosslay was stretched into the building a fire attack was initiated. Engine 54-12 arrived staged behind 54-11 while Kaska Engine 2-10 secured a supply line from a nearby hydrant. Coal Township hits second alarm
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA – Around 7:30 PM on Monday, January 29, Northumberland County sent out the first alarm assignment for a dwelling fire at the corner of Wabash Street and Sherman Street in Coal Township. First arriving units found heavy fire showing from the first floor. Brady Engine 151 arrived and began to stretch multiple lines. As other first alarm units were arriving the second alarm was transmitted bringing in companies from surrounding communities. Car hits bridge in Union Twp.
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 9:15 AM on Wednesday, November 14, Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue was dispatched with Ringtown EMS to Zion Grove Road and Ferndale Road in Union Township for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injury. Shenandoah ALS was added to the assignment after reports of possible entrapment and an unconscious patient. Aristes Captain 352 arrived on the scene shortly after dispatch and found a single vehicle that struck a bridge and was sitting in the middle of the roadway. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 11 AM on Tuesday, November 13, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Mahanoy City Fire Department (West End and Humane) with Mahanoy City EMS and Shenandoah ALS to 1210 West Centre Street in Mahanoy Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Medic 6404 and Ambulance 4803 went responding and was advised of a car versus pole with one male injured. Engine 451 arrived on scene to find a passenger car versus pole with the pole completely sheared and the driver self-extricated. Trailer fire in Columbia County
COLUMBIA COUNTY, PA – Around 8:30AM Columbia County 9-1-1 dispatched Beaver Twp. Fire and Main Twp. Fire to 188 Scotch Valley Drive for a reported house fire. Nuremberg-Weston Fire was also requested for a full response. Crews arrived to find a working fire in a trailer. Main Twp.’s engine positioned in the driveway while Nurmberg’s engine took the address along Scotch Valley. A line was stretched through the front door to knock down the fire. Vehicle takes out tree, hits pole then house
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 10:45 PM on Monday, October 23, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 4, Stations 1 & 2 (Fountain Springs and Lavelle) along with Ashland EMS, Shenandoah ALS and Ashland Rescue to 400 Peter Street in Butler Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Responding units were advised of a vehicle into a house with injuries. Fire and EMS arrived to find a single vehicle accident. Hazle Twp. finds fire showing from apartment building
LUZERNE COUNTY – At 4:57 PM on Tuesday, October 16, Hazle Township Fire, Harwood Fire and APTS Medic 11 were dispatched to 1143 Harwood Road in Hazle Township for a reported commercial structure fire. Hazle Township Assistant Chief 141-4 (Zoshak) went responding and was advised of a three story multi-family apartment building receiving multiple calls for smoke coming from the building. LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 16, APTS Medic 11D was responding to an EMS call when it came upon a motor vehicle accident at State Route 924 and Interstate 81 in Hazle Township. Medic 11D was reporting a tractor trailer had broad-sided a pickup truck in the intersection. Hazle Twp. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 5:33 PM on Thursday September 13, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 4 (Butler Twp.), Ashland Rescue 38, Ashland EMS and Shenandoah ALS to 399 Peter Street in Butler Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
