LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 5:24 PM on Monday, April 1 fire crews from West Hazleton, Hazle Twp. and Harwood were dispatched to the area of North Third Street and Green Street in West Hazleton Borough for a reported structure fire. West Hazleton Chief 3 went enroute and was advised that the caller thought they saw a house on fire in that area.  Police arrived on scene shortly after and confirmed a working fire with possible entrapment. Hazle Township knocks commercial fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, Hazle Township Fire was dispatched with West Hazleton Fire to Greenview Meats on Winters Avenue for a reported commercial building fire.  Crews responded and found fire showing from the rear of the structure.  The fire was quickly knocked down within ten minutes but crews remained on scene for quite some time mopping up.  Photos of the incident were submitted by Greg Yeager. Freeland house burns on Christmas

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly before 10:30 PM on Christmas night, Luzerne County 9-1-1 sent the first alarm assignment to 425 Alvin Street in Freeland Borough for a reported dwelling fire.  Most of the first alarm units were already on scene of a multiple alarm dwelling fire in neighboring Butler Township.  Non-essential units quickly picked up and responded to Freeland.  A second alarm was requested to replace the committed units. West Hazleton fire goes two alarms

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA –  Shortly before 5 PM, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched West Hazleton Fire Station 24 and Hazle Township Fire Station 10 to 201 East Green Street in West Hazleton for a reported structure fire.   Chief 244 arrived on the scene and found heavy fire showing from the Bravo side of a two and a half story duplex.  The chief assumed command and requested a second alarm be struck.   West Hazleton Engine 242 arrived and took the front of the building followed by Hazle Tower 107.  Crews stretched an inch and three quarter line and began an … Continue reading →
